I just finished putting my work room together today!

I'm not in the garage, or cluttering up the living room anymore!
The Grizzly bear should be happy. (He can't relax in clutter)

I made up my mind not to spend any money, so storage is kinda wonky for now.
Hopefully later on, I can get some cabinets on the walls, and lighting under them.

This will do for now.

Now to finish up those Christmas gifts!

Unchained Melody ~ Sorta

This is a special order for a friend. It's a gift for her mother in law Christmas.
A music teacher, her favorite song is Unchained Melody.
The resin heart has the first two notes of the vocal part hand printed in it.
There was some dispute as to her favorite color, with purple, and blue being the choices. I found this lovely purple / blue ribbon that shimmers at the back.
I used tiny purple and blue beads to accent with a few glass pearls scattered around.
The balance is 16 gauge brass wire.
I think maybe I can get a NEW song in my head now!

I do have a friend who is our churches bass player................couple of things rattling around in my head for her.

Why Naomi Rose?

My name is actually Rosemarie. So why do I call my work Naomi Rose?
Genesis 35:16-18 tells the story of the birth of Benjamin, son of Jacob, and Rachel.     Rachel knew she was dying, and with her last breath she called her son Ben-Omi, which means 'son of my trouble'. I mean, I know the woman was dying, but to hang a name like that on your son! She was blaming him for her death.
Jacob, on the other hand, named him Benjamin, which means 'son of my right hand'. Your right hand  is where you put the thing, you most want to protect. Jacob knew that our name is so important to who we become, and how we see ourselves and the world around us. There really is power of life and death in the tongue!
Wow! I am so happy my Heavenly Father has the last word on my name!

My name Rosemarie, means a bitter briar. I am reminded of the story of Ruth and Naomi coming into Bethlehem. Naomi was coming back after losing everything but one faithful, loving daughter in law. The people gathered around saying 'Is this Naomi?' She told them to call her Mara, and not Naomi because she was bitter, where she had once been pleasant.
While praying about what to call my jewelry business, I was reminded about, the story of Ruth and Naomi. Naomi Rose was what we came up with. Pleasant flower, is much better than bitter briar, don't ya think?
